Applying global best practice : workers and the "new" methods of production organization

Employment and Training Papers No. 15

The paper begins by giving a concise definition of the set of workplace organization and labour management practices referred to as the current Global Best Practice. It then articulates two sets of questions. The first identifies important research issues on the implication of wider adoption of these practices for workers and the second ask whether these practices will spread beyond trade manufacturers and what factors influence their adoption.
