This event followed up on a virtual workshop held on 2 February 2022 in which development banks and ILO discussed the overarching objectives and challenges of employment impact assessment. The symposium explored in more detail some important issues in employment impact assessment, in particular the relevance of Decent Work indicators and their measurement as well as alternative approaches in assessing quality and long-term employment impacts.
 
The event was an opportunity for participants to share and exchange on their work and views on these two topics by focusing on problem-solving and finding synergies. It included the participation of development finance institutions providing financing for private sector operations, bilateral and multilateral development banks providing financing for public sector projects as well as of experts from the ILO and the European Commission.
