    The projects aims to support the Government of Ethiopia by contributing to the creation of more and better jobs in the agribusiness sector. Its approach is based on two principles: it will both “push” people into the labour market, by providing them with the skills needed to access employment or start their business, and “pull” them, by supporting enterprise and value chain development so that the private sector can grow and provide more and better jobs.

    The LEED+ project builds on successes of the Local Empowerment through Economic Development (LEED) Project. From 2011-2018, LEED has helped to reduce poverty, create sustainable jobs and build the peace in northern Sri Lanka.

  4. Enhancing Rural Access Agro-Forestry Project (ERA Agro-Forestry)

    The Project aims to contribute to a peaceful, inclusive and sustainable development in Timor-Leste, through improved rural access, the creation of employment, economic and domestic revenue opportunities through agro-forestry development, and a durable reduction in food insecurity and malnutrition in rural areas. This project is funded by the European Union.

  3. Strengthening Public Employment Services in English Speaking Africa

    Supported by the Republic of Korea, the Employment Policy Department’s - Employment, Labour Markets and Youth Branch (EMPLAB) - of ILO is implementing the project to support strengthening the PES in English speaking Sub-Saharan Africa through upgrading the job portal system and building the capacities of public officials in Namibia and Malawi. The third component involves carrying out a global study to investigate how the use of technology in PES is helping improve service delivery to clients. This project is implemented in line with the Centenary Declaration and the Future of Work Report, which recommend an increase of investment in PES and to optimise digitalisation.

    The Roads for Development Program (R4D) is the leading rural roads program in Timor-Leste, supporting the development of the rural roads sector in the country.
