  1. High-level Dialogue on the New Regional Framework on Climate Mobility concludes

    The regional dialogue was facilitated through the PCCMHS programme led by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) alongside the International Labour Organization (ILO), Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), Platform on Disaster Displacement (PDD) and the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS). The joint-agency PCCMHS programme is funded by the United Nations Trust Fund for Human Security and the New Zealand Aid Programme.

    ILO to release latest Monitor on the world of work, analyzing impact of multiple crises

    The ILO will publish the 9th edition of its Monitor report series, which tracks the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and other crises on workers and businesses worldwide.

  9. Advocacy on social protection targets Mozambican Parliamentarians

    Between 18 and 19 April, around 45 parliamentarians from the Republic of Mozambique took part in an advocacy activity conducted by the Civil Society Platform on Social Protection with support from the European Union and the ILO. This activity had the goal of sensitizing legislators about key governmental interventions around social protection, particularly on the basic social security programmes administered by the National Institute of Social Action (INAS).

    On Friday 22 April, Mozambique held its National Conference on Combatting the Worst Forms of Child Labour in Chimoio, Manica Province. Several high-level representatives took part in this conference, including the Minister of Labour and Social Security, Margarida Adamugy Talapa, the Governor of Manica, Francisca Domingos Tomás, and the Vice Minister of Gender, Child and Social Action, Lucas Mangrasse.
