Omar Berarma is a 49-year-old man with disability who has suffered from several administrative and social obstacles throughout his life. Since his childhood, he has participated in environmental conservation activities. At the age of 19, Omar started managing a social and environmental association.

In 2016, Omar heard about SIYB. Fascinated by the social economy logic of the SIYB approach, he joined the program and participated in the three packages of SIYB starting with the Generate your Business Idea package. In view of his activism and dynamism, he was able to create a company in the organic agri-food specialty. Thenceforth, he has benefited from support programs, particularly in the areas of environment and accessibility of people with disability to labour markets.

In 2018, he was certified as an SIYB trainer, and his focus is on green entrepreneurship. Omar is a reference in Algeria, where he is often invited by the Algerian government and the media to participate in national events about green entrepreneurship. Omar is a very active volunteer in the social and environmental field.
