Supplier diagnosis of the market for Business Development Services in Sri Lanka

Results of a nation-wide survey carrie out by the Ministry of Enterprise Development with technical and financial support from ILO and GTZ

This survey covered 294 BDS providers in Sri Lanka, of which over 40% were private companies (the balance being government or non-profit). The survey only covered formally-registered providers, which identified themselves as BDS providers. It did not cover, for example, providers of embedded services. Finally, it does not differentiate, among private BDS providers, between those deriving their income from public sources, and those operating on a purely commercial basis. Nonetheless, there is detailed breakdown on the findings, and the website gives extensive additional information.
