Multinational enterprises, transfer of managerial know-how, technology choice and employment effects: a case study of Kenya

Working paper on the impact of multinational enterprises on local level technology transfer, choice of technology and employment creation, comprising a case study of Kenya - based on a sample survey, finds that subsidiaries provide management development for local managers, who exercise appreciable decision making autonomy over capital and technology which tends to be labour intensive, and that local value added is little, and changes in employment are almost entirely due to market demand.
