Equal Pay for Work of Equal Value - How do We Get There?

Tuesday 29 March 2011 - Webinar convened by the ILO and the UN Global Compact Office

Pay differentials between women and men remain one of the most persistent forms of inequality, with women on average earning 20% less than men. This 60 minutes webinar, convened by the ILO and the UN Global Compact Office, will explore the underlying causes of the gender pay gap, and the development of workplace policies and practices to address this inequality.

The webinar will introduce the “equal pay and work of equal value” principle and the ILO practical tool for managers: "Promoting equity through gender neutral job evaluations: A step-by-step guide”

The webinar offers practical guidance on UN Global Compact Principle 6 (Businesses should uphold the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation) and UN Global Compact – UN Women Women’s Empowerment Principle 2 (Treat all women and men fairly at work – respect and support human rights and nondiscrimination).

The webinar is taking place on Tuesday 29 March 2011 – 9:30 AM (New York time) 3:30 PM (Geneva time). Registration is required to participate in the webinar. To register, please send a message to webinar@unglobalcompact.org
