Dear all,
I am pleased to announce that crew-members of the Geo Star repatriated on 05/10/2017 at 8.30 am. Seafarers have received 4 months wages from Financial Security Insurance under the MLC 2006 Convention and the remaining money until the date of repatriation will be received from the price that will be collected from the sale of the Geo Star.

I pleased to say I received the update below from our inspector in Romania. It has taken 8 months for the insurers to pay out, but I suppose we can better late than never…

I am glad to inform you that yesterday I had confirmation that all crewmembers received 4 months wages from Rosgosstrakh, except master 's daughter who must sign some documents and then money will be paid to her too. I am now arranging repatriation for crew on Insurer account. So, we have apply MLC 2006 provisions from start (when vessel were arrested) to the end (when seafarers received 4 months wages) even in Romania and even on Rosgosstrakh case.

Dear Jonathan,
I am pleased to inform you that m/v Geo Star sold and crewmembers received full their unpaid wages (US 174.347,70 $). The last 3 crew-members repatriated and I received all money spent to maintained minimum living conditions on board, therefore money received from ITF for crew of M/V Geo Star fully recovered and now will be paid back to ITF.
