Platform Supply Ship

Three seafarers were left on board without contact with the company, no instructions regarding destination port, not enough supply, provisions, fresh water and without getting wages for several months. Spanish Maritime Authorities organized the assistance to the vessel to be brought alongside to help the crew and to guarantee their safety.

No local agent appointed. No any contact details of the company, OCEAN TEAM Ltd, no chance to reach them despite the efforts and investigation.

We have just referred to our maritime administration the information concerning vessel SEA CONDOR abandoned in Cadiz, Spain. Our colleagues in Madrid will reach out the Local Maritime Authority in Cadiz.

We regret to advise you that the captioned vessel is not entered with Maritime Mutual.
The attached document is an application form for MLC certificate. As the vessel was never entered, Maritime Mutual did not issue one.

Please note the information submitted by the Local Maritime Authority in Cadiz concerning the abandonment case of vessel SEA CONDOR.
· On the morning of 9 May, the Cadiz Rescue and Coordination Centre was informed that the vessel SEA CONDOR, IMO number: 8520159, with 3 persons members of the crew on board, was requesting to call at Cadiz Port. The chief mate informed that both the Captain and the Chief Engineer had left the vessel during the previous night, in a small auxiliary boat of the vessel, and also indicated that they had no provisions and enough fuel on board as the shipowner had abandoned them.
· Assistance was given to SEA CONDOR by tugs and pilotage services and the Spanish Maritime Authority ordered SEA CONDOR to port.
· Humanitarian aid was provided to the crew. Cadiz Port Authority is collaborating and helping the ITF in order to proceed with the repatriation of the crew members.
According to the information available repatriation of the crew members is expected to take place by the end of July.

The crew are now at home. The vessel remains seized and awaiting auction by the court. This could take a significant amount of time.
