    Amends sections of the Criminal Code relating to possession and use of arms and of the Act on prison administration relating to the necessity to feed prisoners according to their needs and the care to be given in the event of hunger strike. Provides for severe sanctions for persons visiting prisoners and encouraging them to go on hunger strike.

    Regulations concerning the administration of penitentiaries and detention centres and the execution of sentences.

    Comprehensive legislation on administration of penitenciaries and detention centres. Makes provision for determination of the type of work which convicts are required to perform, purpose of work in the institution, compulsory nature of the work and its scope, and persons who cannot be employed for health reasons. Also provides for work in places of employment in the public and private sectors, working time, work programme, practical training periods, determination of amount of work, reporting of work performed each day, internal services, daily wages, bonuses, work cards, family assistance, and several related matters.

    Regulation concerning the employment of ex-convicts.

    Amends ss. 7 and 11 of the Regulation concerning competitive examinations for the public service. Ex-convicts must have at least a college degree for employment in the public service.

    Stipulates that members of the Ministry of Justice (including judges), members of the Armed Forces, and young students shall not be members of a political party. The Act introduces new sections concerning the financing and commercial activities of political parties.

    Regulations pertaining to the employment of convicts detained in penitentiary institutions at places of employment outside those prisons (No. 83/7041).

    Regulates principles of employment of prisoners. Section 8 establishes that prisoners to whom principles laid down in Section 7 do not apply, or whose "good conduct" has been issued, shall be employed at places of employment outside the prison under gendarmerie guard. Section 9 sets forth right of prisoners to receive wages. Sections 10-14 makes provision for work protocol.

    Political Parties Act (extracts), 1983 (No. 2820).

    Governs establishment and activities of political parties. Sections 3 and 4 set forth prohibitions of certain activities. Parties shall not pursue the aim of changing the secular nature of the Republic, or engage in religious propaganda and demonstrations. Internal proceedings of political parties must comply with principles of democracy, and parties shall not create uniforms for their members or staff. Section 5 regulates compulsory dissolution of political parties; Section 6 voluntary dissolution of political parties. Section 7 contains penal provisions.
