Prohibits discrimination in education, including:
- depriving any person access to education of any type or at any level;
- limiting any person to education of an inferior standard;
- establishing or maintaining separate educational systems or institutions for persons; or
- inflicting on any person conditions which are incompatible with the dignity of man.
Obliges States Parties to develop and apply a national policy that will promote equality of opportunity and of treatment in the matter of education.

Aims to facilitate travel for refugees residing in territories of State Parties.
Provides that refugees may enter without visas on the territory of all Parties for a maximum of 3 months, except for persons in paid employment. Also states that the refugees shall be re-admitted at any time to the territory of the Party by whose authorities a travel document was issued, at the simple request of the other Party.

Considers it necessary to respect the religious beliefs and moral precepts of the group to which a prisoner belongs.
Rules 71 to 76 detail working rights of prisoners including fair and safe working conditions.
Recognizes prisoners' right to education.

Recognizes the social and humanitarian nature of the problem of refugees and urges States parties to prevent this problem from becoming a cause of tension between States.
Article 1 defines the term "refugee" for the purposes of the Convention.
Chapter II details the juridical status of refugees, including: personal status, right of association and access to courts.
Chapter III recognizes refugees' right to work and outlines conditions of employment.
Chapter IV stresses on the welfare aspects of refugees, including: rationing, housing, public education, public relief and labour legislation and social security.
Article 33 prohibits "refoulment" (return or expulsion) of refugees except in cases of crime ore danger/ threat to security.

Obliges Parties to secure these rights and freedoms to everyone within their jurisdiction.

Abolishes prostitution and obliges States parties to punish any person involved in prostitution either by way of enticing or exploiting another person or by financing/ managing a brothel and similar buildings/places.
Encourages Parties, through their public and private educational, health, social, economic and other related services, to take measures for the prevention of prostitution and for the rehabilitation and social adjustment of the victims of prostitution. Obliges States parties to adopt or maintain such measures as are required, to check the traffic in persons of either sex for the purpose of prostitution.

Prohibits slavery or servitude (Art.4), torture and cruel or inhuman treatment (Art.5).
Recognizes the right to freedom of movement and residence within the borders of each State, the right to leave any country and to return to own country (Art.13) and the right to seek and to enjoy in other countries asylum from persecution (Art.14).
Recognizes the right to social security (Art.22), the right to work, to free choice of employment, to just and favourable conditions of work and to protection against unemployment, the right to equal pay for equal work, the right to form and to join trade unions for the protection of his interests (Art.23).
Encourages everyone's right to education, which should be free, at least in the elementary and fundamental stages (Art.26).
