    The purpose of this law shall be to specify basic requirements for the healthy environment and protection of population in current and future generations against exposure or potential exposure to radiation and for safety of radiation sources. This law shall apply to all activities associated with mining and processing of radioactive ores in the territory of Mongolia (Article 1).

    The purpose of this Law is to protect the national territory against hazardous waste, including explosives, flammable liquids and solids, combustible or radioactive substances, toxic substances, oxidants, corrosives and organic peroxides. Importing hazardous waste for use, storage, temporary storage or destruction shall be prohibited. Export of hazardous waste shall be authorized in accordance with export permits issued by the central governmental body. Any person that violates regulations on the collection, packaging, temporary storage, transport, recycling and storage of hazardous waste shall be liable for damages for any harm to human health, property or the environment.
