    Regulates safety of installations on and construction of fishing vessels as well as safety on board including means of escape, fire fighting and fire protection, life-saving appliances, emergency procedures, musters and drills, first aid, radio installations, radio watches, pilot ladders, navigation equipment, collision regulations, and prevention of pollution regulations.

    Provides that a person may not be employed at a mine for a period longer than 8 hours in any 24 hours. However, this does not apply to emergencies, where life and property is in danger, where urgent work is essential to the continuation of the ordinary working of a mine, if such extra time is worked only on an infrequent basis (may not exceed 16 hours in any 24 hour period) and where work schedules incorporate periodic shift changes within a 24 hour period (may not exceed 16 hours in any 24 hour period). A person below the age of 18 years may not be employed at a mine unless for the purposes of training. A manager shall ensure that workers receive thorough orientation to the mine, basic instruction in safe work practices and are adequately trained to do their job or are working under the guidance of someone who has competency in the job and in giving instructions. Provides that a worker may refuse hazardous work if there is reasonable cause to believe that the work would create an undue hazard to the health and safety of himself or any other person. Also provisions on inspection of mines, monthly accident reports, supervision of workers, personal protective equipment, work in confined spaces, maximum exposure to workplace contaminants and maximum noise levels.
