The new Chapter establishes the conditions for the entitlement to pregnancy and maternity allowances, and defines allowance rates and duration of payment.

Chapter 2 sets forth general requirements for non-governmental organisations. Chapter 3 regulates registration, Chapter 4 finances, Chapter 5 reporting requirements, and Chapter 6 violations of this law.

    The purpose of the law is to coordinate relations concerning protection of child rights. Applies to all children under the age of 18 years. Rights include right to live, to develop, to be protected (in particular Article VII(6) which provides for prohibition of child labour in hazardous conditions etc.) and to participate in social life. Also outlines duties of child, government, parents, guardians, caregivers, individuals, economic entities and organisations. Establishes a National Council for Children.

Part Two covers property law, including intellectual property, land ownership, and public property. Section 140 guarantees Mongolian citizens the right to private property. Part Three regards general principles of obligations, including contracts and performance of obligations, fines and other remedies, and consumer rights. Part IV relates to contractual liability; Part V covers non-contractual liability, including personal damages and damages awarded to persons losing their ability to work.
