Law No. 35 of 2014 Amending Law on Child Protection (No. 23/2002). - Adoption: 2014-10-17 | IDN-2014-L-98588 Makes considerable number of amendments to the 2002 Law, in particular amends articles 1 (definitions), 6 (freedom of religion), 9 (right to education), 12 (rights of children with disabilities), 14 (right to live with parents), 15 (provides that every child has the right to be protected from a. abuse in political activities; b. involvement in armed conflict; c. involvement in social unrest; d. involvement in events containing violent elements; e. involvement in war; and f. sexual crimes), 20 (lists those responsible for implementation of child protection), 21 (obligation to implement this law without discrimination with respect to the child's race, religion, class, gender, ethnicity, culture and language, legal status, birth order, and physical and/or mental capabilities), 22 (obligation of government to support parents and guardians). Also amends the following articles: 23-28, 33, 38, 38A, 38, 39, 41, 41A, 43-45, 45A, 45B, 46-49, 51, 53-56, 58, 59, 59A, 60, 64-67, 67A, 67B, 67C, 68-77, 80-83, 86-89, 91.

The Realization of Activities for the Reduction of Child Labour to Support Hopeful Family Program of 2012 (Decree of the Minister of Manpower and Transmigration No. 7/2012). Adoption: 2012-01-12 | Date of end of application: 2012-12-31 | IDN-2012-R-95242 Decrees that activities to reduce child labour are to be carried out in the 84 regencies/municipalities in 21 provinces. These activities are to be carried out in coordination with the competent government authorities and NGOs. The Director General of Manpower Control and Development is responsible for the implementation of the Hopeful Family Program (PPA-PKH) of 2012. Governors and Mayors/Regents are to be patrons of PPA-PKH.

Minister of Manpower and Transmigration Decree No. Kep.235/MEN/2003 concerning Jobs that Jeopardize the Health, Safety and Morals of Children. Adoption: 2003-10-31 | IDN-2003-R-71282 Implements Art. 74 of Act No. 13 of 2003 on Manpower. Children, defined as any child under the age of 18 years, are prohibited from being employed in a job that jeopardizes their health, safety or morals and employers are prohibited from employing children to work overtime. The types of jobs referred to are included in the Annex to the Decree and include work with machines, engines, heavy duty equipment, jobs where there are physical hazards, chemical hazards, biological hazards or that by nature are hazardous. Jobs that harm the moral of children include jobs in bars, discotheques, etc. places that may be used for prostitution, promotion of alcohol, drugs to arouse sexual desire or cigarettes.

Law on Child Protection (No. 23/2002). (Undang-Undang Tentang Perlindungan Anak) - Adoption: 2002-10-22 | IDN-2002-L-63103 Comprehensive legislation on protection of children. Child is defined as person under the age of 18, including child in uterus. Basic objective is to guarantee and protect rights of children, so as to ensure their survival, growth and development. Divided into 14 chapters. Chapter 1 contains general provisions; Chapter 2 sets forth basic principles and objectives. Chapter 3 regulates rights and obligations of child. Chapter 4 provides for obligations and responsibilities of state, government, society, family and parents in implementing child protection. Chapter 5 regulates status of child. Chapter 6 provides for upbringing power. Chapter 7 deals with custody; Chapter 8 with upbringing and adoption of child. Chapter 9 provides for implementation of protection; Chapter 10 for public participation. Chapter 11 establishes Indonesian Child Protection Commission. Chapter 12 contains criminal provisions. Finally, Chapters 13 and 14 contain transitional and closing provisions.

Chapter I contains introductory provisions, including definition of worst forms of child labour. Chapter II provides for the national policy, Chapter III for action programs and Chapter IV for role and responsibilities in implementing the measures. Chapter V deals with monitoring and evaluation.

Provides for programmes on the control of child labour.
