Regulations 3 and 4 provides widowers with similar benefits to those available to widows. Regulations 5 and 6 provide that children of female beneficiaries have the same entitlement to children's compensation as the children of male beneficiaries.

Regulation 2 provides that for the purposes of section 36(4) of the Act those living abroad serving in the armed forces, and their families, shall be treated as being resident and present in Great Britain. Regulation 3 specifies the circumstances under which a person shall be treated under section 36A of the Act as having qualified for severe disablement allowance.
