    The first Chinese law to carry the title "code" since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949.

    The Law is "formulated in accordance with the Constitution of the People’s Republic of China for the purposes of protecting the lawful rights and interests of the persons of the civil law, regulating civil-law relations, maintaining social and economic order, meet the needs for developing socialism with Chinese characteristics, and carrying forward the core socialist values" (Article 1).

    El decreto citado modifica el artículo 1015 del Código Civil, disponiendo que, en caso de revocación del contrato de locación urbana por acuerdo entre las partes, el contrato constituye título ejecutivo suficiente para la restitución de la cosa locada siempre que el acuerdo conste por escrito y sus firman sean reconocidas. También modifica el artículo 1032, relativo a las formalidades del contrato, y el artículo 1038, que trata del derecho del propietario a denunciar el contrato. Finalmente, regula lo atinente al funcionamiento del Centro de Arbitrajes de Conflictos en las Locaciones.
