Code of Safety and Health in Factories.

Aims at improving the working conditions in factories, protecting the safety and health of workers and ensuring increased productivity. Chapter One establishes general principles. Chapter Two governs factory compounds. Sets guidelines for roads along factories, ditches, fences, electrical fences and the lighting of the compound. Chapter Three governs the work site. Declares that work sites are to be kept clean. Makes guidelines regarding the cleanliness of floors. Guides the provision of adequate lighting, requirements for doors and windows, ventilation, water containers and drainage. Chapter Four concerns machinery equipment. Establishes that protective devices should be fitted for dangerous machinery. Governs safety with regard to cranes and lifting devices. Provides for the adequate lubrication of machinery. Chapter Five makes safety provisions for electrical appliances. This includes regulating wiring, the insulation of wiring and voltage. Chapter Six concerns boilers and gas containers. Provides for safety valves of such machinery, the special training of those operating these machines and for the safe placement of gas containers away from heat or sunlight. Chapter Seven makes safety provisions with regard to gases, dust and toxic substances. Chapter Eight is designed to ensure an adequate supply of water for industrial usage and to protect drinking water from pollution. Chapter Nine governs the provision of auxiliary production facilities including restrooms and showers and regulates their use. Chapter governs the provision of personal protective equipment including inter alia, masks, helmets, gloves and aprons. Chapter Eleven allows the departments in charge of specific enterprises to elaborate oon the regulations of the code.
