The Law ratifies the Maritime Labour Convention of 2006, adopted on the 94th session of the International Labour Organization by the General Conference of the International Labour Organisation in Geneva on 23 February 2006, together with the appendixes attached to it. The Law publishes the original text, as well as the Greek translation and it stipulates that the Regulations for the necessary application of the validated enactments shall be ratified by presidential decree. It also designates the competent authorities to inspect the application of the provisions of the Convention and the above-stated Regulations, to attest violations, to impose sanctions and to verify accusations. It provides for the specific sanctions to be imposed in case of violations and it includes amending and transitional provisions.
