Undertakings falling within the scope of Law 2961/1954 may terminate their employees¿ employment relationships, but are under an obligation to pay compensation in the event of termination without prior warning (article 1). The compensation owed according to Law 2112/1920 to employees who have been dismissed without a time limit shall be payable by the employer at the date of termination of the employment relationship (article 2). If the employer determines a period of time, at the end of which the termination of the employment relationship will be effected, s/he shall pay to the dismissed employee at the expiry of that period of time a compensation equal to half of that owed in the event of termination without prior warning (article 4). The compensation shall be calculated on the basis of the regular earnings of the employee on the last month of full time employment (article 5).
