Second Region

Regulates employment of children under the age of 15. Divided into 6 parts. Part 1 (s. 1-7) contains preliminary provisions. Part 2 (s. 8-34) regulates employment of children. Child can be employed either in accordance with a permit issued under this part, or in a family business. Sets forth age limits for different types of jobs. Makes it an offence to employ a child during school hours on a school day. Also deals with issue of permits for children to engage in employment, general conditions of employment, employment in familiy business, and employment in entertainment. States that child may be employed in entertainment in accordance with permit. Part 3 (s. 35-36) provides for restrictions on activities not constituting employment. Part 4 (s. 37-51) deals with compliance, and Parts 5 and 6 contain general and transitional provisions. Repeals existing child employment laws.
