Abstract/Citation
Comprehensive legislation providing for rehabilitation, compensation and other entitlements for veterans, members and former members of the Defence Force, as well as for some related matters. Divided into 11 parts. Part 1 (s. 1-20) contains introductory provisions. Part 2 (s. 21-36) deals with accepting of liability for service injuries, diseases and deaths. Part 3 (s. 37-64) makes provision for rehabilitation. Part 4 (s. 65-230) regulates compensation for members and former members of Defence Force. Part 5 (s. 231-268) deals with compensation for dependants of certain deceased members, members and former members. Part 6 (s. 269-317) provides for treatment for injuries and diseases. Part 7 (s. 318-343) regulates claims. Part 8 (s. 344-359) deals with reconsideration and review of determinations. Part 9 (s. 360-385) establishes Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Commission. Part 10 (s. 386-403) regulates liabilities arising apart from this Act. Part 11 (s. 404-440) contains miscellaneous provisions.
