Ensures the equal right of men and women to the enjoyment of all civil and political rights (Art.3).
Etsablishes conditions on death penalty, precising that sentence of death may be imposed only for the most serious crimes in accordance with the law in force. Sentence of death shall not be imposed for crimes committed by persons below eighteen years of age and shall not be carried out on pregnant women (Art.6).
Abolishes torture or cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment (Art.7).
Prohibits slavery, slave-trade and servitude as well as forced or compulsory labour (Art.8).
Recognizes the right to liberty of movement and freedom to choose one's residence (Art.12).
Recognizes the right to freedom of association with others, including the right to form and join trade unions for the protection of one's interests (Art.22).
