Second Region

Sets forth rules governing protection of personal data. Divided into 12 parts. Part 1 contains general provisions. "Personal data" is defined as any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. Act applies to fully or partly automated processing of personal data, and non-automated processing of personal data entered into a file or intended to be entered therein. Part 2 establishes conditions for lawful processing of personal data. Part 3 provides for codes of conduct. Part 4 regulates notification and prior investigation. Part 5 deals with information provided to data subject. Part 6 provides for rights of data subject. Part 7 sets forth exceptions and restrictions. Part 8 deals with legal protection, Part 9 with supervision, Part 10 with sanctions, and Part 11 with transfer of data to countries outside the European Union. Part 12 contains transitional and final provisions.
