Résumé/Citation: | Provides for establishment of Human Resource Development Council. Divided into 6 parts. Part 1 contains preliminary provisions. Part 2 deals with Human Resource Development Council. Objects of Council are to (a) promote human resource development in line with national economic and social objectives, (b) stimulate culture of training and lifelong learning at individual, organisational and national levels for employability and increasing productivity; and (c) provide necessary human resource thrust for successful transformation of economy of the country into a Knowledge Economy. Also regulates functions, powers, membership and meetings of Council. Part 3 deals with committees; Part 4 with administration. Part 5 provides for training levy to be paid by every employer in respect of every employee, other than a household worker, who is an insured person. Part 6 contains miscellaneous provisions. Amends the Vocational Training Board Act. |
