Abstract/Citation
Comprehensive legislation on womens rights. Divided into 12 parts. Part I contains preliminary provisions. Part II sets forth prohibition of polygamous marriages. Parts III to V deal with solemnization and registration of marriage. Part VI regulates rights and duties of husband and wife. Part VII contains provisions regarding protection of family, Part VIII regulates duty to maintain wife and children. Part IX provides for enforcement of maintenance orders. Part X deals with divorce; Part XI with offences against women and girls. Contains provisions regarding forced prostitution and trafficking in women and girls. Finally, Part XII contains miscellaneous provisions.
