Second Region

Provides for the payment of compensation to workers for injuries suffered in the course of their employment. Establishes an employer's liability to pay compensation for injuries which result in disablement of a worker for more than three days and were not the result of that worker's misconduct. Establishes an employer's liability to pay compensation for diseases only in respect to diseases solely and directly attributable to injury arising through the course of employment. Sets the amount of compensation for death, permanent total disablement, the various states of partial disablement and temporary disablement. Regulates the method of calculating wages. Provides for the payment and distribution of compensation and for deductions for costs. Legislates that compensation is not to be assigned, attached or charged. Governs medical examinations. Provides for remedies against third parties. Regulates cases of the bankruptcy of an employer in connection with the payment of compensation. Governs the appointment of commissioners to hear cases and appeals. Estalbishes proceedings. Provides for the registration of orders and agreements and their enforcement. Establishes rules concerning the transfer of funds.
