Provides for the fixing of wages of workers, the hours of work, and other matters pertaining to the welfare of workers. Establishes that minimum wages for specific sectors of economic activity are to be fixed by ministerial proclamation. Provides for the establishment of advisory boards to advise on such matters. Establishes normal working hours at eight per day and forty per week. Obliges employers to pay employees overtime for all work above this at the rate of one and a half times the normal wage. Provides for one day of rest per week. Regulates vacation leave. Provides for at least two weeks to three weeks of leave per year depending on the amount of years worked. Regulates the granting of such leave. Governs maternity leave. Provides for six weeks of maternity leave prior to confinement and six weeks after confinement. Regulates application for and entitlement to maternity leave. Establishes equality of wages between male and female employees. Provides for transfers of businesses. Provides for the administration and enforcement of regulations. Regulates inspections and inspectors. Provides for complaints to labour trbunals. Provides for the keeping of records.
