Second Region

Declares the intention of the Government to ratify, where possible, International Labour Organization Conventions. Declares that the State shall ensure freedom of association and the rights of migrant and disabled workers, and provide for increased access to vocational training, social security schemes, and for the fixing of minimum wages. The State shall furthermore seek to prevent the exploitation of temporary employees, ensure a labour inspection service, and strengthen conciliation and arbitration machinery. For women, the State shall ensure equal opportunity and the enforcement of maternity benefit legislation. Part 7c states that the State shall take steps to prevent the employment of children in industry and domestic service.
