Résumé/Citation: |
Requires developers of projects set out in Schedule 1 to provide an environmental project brief to the Environmental Council of Zambia. If the Council finds that the project will have a significant impact on the environment, it may require the developer to submit an environmental impact statement. Development plans which require briefs or impact statements include projects involving urban development, transportation, dams, rivers, mining, waste disposal, forestry, manufacturing, and certain types of agricultural activity. Briefs or statements shall address the impact of a project on biological diversity, sustainable use of land, and society, including effects on employment, migration and the local economy. |
