Second Region

Part One contains general provisions governing the legal status and capacity of persons and transactions. Inter alia, defines legal status of minors (full legal status is attained at age 18) and legal status of companies, partnerships and cooperatives. Part Two covers property law, including intellectual property, land ownership, and public property. Section 140 guarantees Mongolian citizens the right to private property. Part Three regards general principles of obligations, including contracts and performance of obligations, fines and other remedies, and consumer rights. Part IV relates to contractual liability; Part V covers non-contractual liability, including personal damages and damages awarded to persons losing their ability to work. Chapter Six governs inheritance. Available in English.
