Résumé/Citation: Imposes upon the employers the obligation to grant parental leave to women workers. A woman worker employed for a period of at least 6 months (including period of previous employment) is entitled to a 3 year-parental leave. The leave shall be taken before the child reaches 4 years of age. Should the child's health require, the leave can be taken until the child reaches 18 months of age. The employer must not terminate the employment contract with a woman worker who has applied for parental leave. Parental leave can also be granted to the father. During maternity leave the woman worker is entitled to child-care allowances and keeps the right to health benefits for herself and her family members.
