Decree of 2 May 1994 to lay down instructions to promote the improvment of the occupational safety and health of women workers during pregnancy and breast feeding (Decree on pregnant women workers).

Second Region

Implements articles 4 to 6 of EC Directive No. 92/85/EEC. Requires that the employer organizes labour, fix up the working place, adapts the production or working methods so that the safety and health of the pregnant or breast-feedig woman worker are not endangered. Should the fulfilment of this obligation not be possible, the temporary following measures shall be taken: adaptation of labour or working and rest periods; or asignment of other duties; or exemption from work. The employer shall take stock of and evaluate the hazards related to labour performed by the woman worker. Inserts a new article in the Lead Decree providing that pregnant or breast-feeding women worker shall not be compelled to perform labour where they might be exposed to lead or lead derivates.
