Second Region

A works council shall be established in every company employing at least 100 persons or 35 persons working more than one third of normal working hours. Part I contains general provisions and Part II provisions relating to the establishment of works councils. Part III regulates their composition and procedure. Part IV governs consultation with the works councils. Provides, inter alia, for special powers of the works council (advisory power in economic matters and consenting powers of social matters). Part V deals with the central work councils and group work councils and Part VI lays down general regulations on procedure. Part VII provides for industrial committees. Deals with the levies to promote education and training of members of the works councils.
