Second Region

Provides for the establishment of accounts by the Australian Taxation Office to allow employers to deposit money for their employees instead of making superannuation contributions. These accounts allow employees with small balances to avoid fees; interest shall be paid only on the first $1,200 so as to encourage the eventual transfer of funds to a superannuation account.
