Résumé/Citation: Amends the Pakistan Penal Code (Act XLV of 1860), and the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 (Act V of 1898), to bring them into conformity with the injunctions of Islam as laid down in the Holy Quran and Sunnah. Repeals the Criminal Law (Amendment) Ordinance, 1994 (No. XVII of 1994). Specific examples of wrongdoing are set out, such as murder or causing death through negligence, and penalties are described in detail for each case. Illustrations of situations are used to describe various kinds of wrongdoing. One of the penalties specified is "arsh", which is the payment of compensation to a victim or his heirs. Another is "quisas", a punishment by causing similar hurt at the same part of the body of the convicted person as he or she has caused to the victim, or in certain circumstances by causing the death of the wrongdoer.
