Résumé/Citation: Comprised of 12 Parts, 193 sections and 9 Schedules. Part I concerns categories of pension schemes. Part II regulates the Occupational Pension Schemes Board and registration of schemes. Parts III and IV covers certification of pension schemes and effects of members' state scheme rights and duties and the protection of early leavers. Part V regulates annual increases in payment. Part VI provides for requirements for protection of scheme members. Parts VII and VIII deal with insolvency of employer and relationship between requirements and scheme rules. Part IX concerns modification and winding up of schemes and Part X covers investigations and the Pensions Ombudsman. The Act establishes a Pensions Ombudsman to investigate and determine any complaint made to him by or on behalf of an authorised complainant who alleges that he has sustained injustice in consequence of maladministration in connection with any act or omission of the trustees or managers of an occupational pension scheme or personal pension scheme. The Pensions Ombudsman may also investigate and determine any dispute of fact or law which arises in relation to such a scheme between the trustees or managers of the scheme and an authorised complainant.
