This Act makes certain amendments in consequence of the enactment of the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission Act 1986 (No. 125) and repeals the Human Rights Commission Act 1981. Its Part III contains amendments to the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 to include references to the new Commission, to designate its powers in relation to allegations of discrimination and to regulate other administrative matters. Part IV amends the Sex Discrimination Act 1984 in similar respects.
