Second Region

Trade unions are free, independent and autonomous organizations which represent and defend the occupational, economic and social interests of their members. Their activities are governed by the Constitution, the laws of the Republic, ILO Conventions and their own rules. The activities of a trade union can only be suspended under procedures provided for under its rules or by judicial decision. Trade unions have the right to take legislative initiatives.
