Abstract/Citation
This Act provides for the compensation and medical treatment of workers who are injured or contract a disease in the course of their employment. It applies to every employer, including the Government, in Swaziland and to every employee employed in or outside Swaziland by such an employer, except for those outside Swaziland covered under another national program. Part II, and its accompanying Second Schedule, relates to the liability of an employer for compensation to an employee for death or disability. Part III establishes a Workmen's Compensation Medical Board and provides conditions for the medical examination and treatment of employees. Part IV, and its accompanying First Schedule, specifies employers' liability for compensation of occupational diseases. Part V authorizes the promulgation of regulations under the Act and repeals the Workmen's Compensation Act of 1963.
