An Act to provide for the protection of the environment and the control of pollution; to establish the Environmental Council and to prescribe the functions and powers of the Council; and to provide for matters connected therewith. Includes provisions governing the discharge of industrial effluent and emissions, waste disposal, activity relating to hazardous waste, use of pesticides and toxic substances, noise, ionising radiation, reporting obligations, licensing conditions and procedures, inspection, offences, penalties, etc.
