Section 1 defines conscientious objection. This is followed by four parts, respectively entitled "Organisation of civilian service", "Conscription, enrolment and enforcement" (citizens between the ages of 18 and 38 years are subject to conscription; protected rights, exemption, leave, obligations of a conscript subject to s.73 -basic obligations of workers- of the Labour Code (LS, 1975-Cz.2) as amended at 14 December 1988 and of the organisation employing him, which must inter alia provide him with a wage equivalent to that of a soldier; working time; regular and special leave; compensation for damage caused by either party), "Punishable acts committed by persons liable to civilian service" (insubordination, desertion) and "General and final provisions" (the duration of civilian service is counted towards length of service).
