An Act to amend the Labour Relations Act, 1956, in order to redefine "unfair labour practice"; to extend the provisions of that Act to certain off-shore operations; to make provision for state employees to establish and operate trade unions; to further regulate trade union registration, the functions of the Industrial Court and the issue of interim interdicts by the same Court in respect of strikes and lock-outs; to simplify the procedure for referral of a dispute to an industrial council or a conciliation board and extend the time limit for such referral from 90 to 180 days; and to make other consequent and related provisions.
