| Résumé/Citation: | Amends the following laws: - Pakistan Penal Code (XLV of 1860) - extends penalties for giving false evidence (s. 182), amends section 298 concerning uttering words etc. with deliberate intent to wound religious feelings and section 498B concerning the prohibition of forced marriages; - Police Act, I86l (V of 1861) - amends sections 23 (duties of police officers), 29 (penalties for neglect of duty), and 32 (penalty for disobeying orders); - Code of Criminal Procedure (Act No. V of 1898) - amends Schedule II concerning penalties for the offences amended in the Penal Code; - Qanun-e-Shahadat Order, 1984 (PO No. 10 of 1984) amends article 164 concerning production of evidence using modern devices; and - Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997 (No. XXVII of 1997) - adds a new section 11WW establishing the offence of lynching and setting out penalties for those committing the offence. |
