Résumé/Citation: | The Act introduces a scheme of Social Security for providing benefits to certain employees or their dependents in the event of sickness, maternity, employment, injury or death. Repeals the Employees Social Securities Ordinance, 1965 to the extent it applies to the Province of Sindh. Workmen's compensation and maternity benefit payable under the following Acts are not payable upon entry into force of this Act and shall cease to have effect in so far as their provisions are inconsistent with the provisions of this Act: - West Pakistan Maternity Benefit Ordinance, 1958 (XXXII of 1958); - Mines Maternity Benefit Act, 1941 (No. 19 of 1941). - Employer's Liability Act, 1938 (No. 24 of 1938). - Workmen's Compensation Act (No. 8 of 1923). |
