Repeals Law No. 54 of 1959 on Notary Public Profession.
The Law regulates the notary public profession, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Justice.
Lays down conditions for individuals intending to practice this profession, which includes swearing an oath before a judge in the Court of First Instance.
Sets out the activities that notaries may undertake.
Notaries attest to the validity of contracts, wills and other legal documents as well as providing notarized copies of documents.
Provides for digital copies of notarized documents to be made.
Gives authority to consular staff abroad to undertake similar tasks.
