Supplements article 5 (Belonging of a person to the citizenship of the Republic of Azerbaijan) with a new part; repeals para 1 of article 6 (Documents verifying citizenship); rephrases articles 10 (Non-recognition of citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan as belonging to citizenship of a foreign state), 12 (Citizenship of the children born to foreigners and persons without citizenship on the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan), 18 (Deprivation of citizenship of the Republic of Azerbaijan); adds new words to article 11 (Grounds for acquisition of citizenship); also introducing minor wording changes into articles 15, 17.
