Abstract/Citation
This Law aims to provide protection for Iraqi Journalists working in the Republic of Iraq and securing their rights.
Survivors of Journalists (other than employees) who die while on or because of duty due to a terrorist act, shall be granted a monthly pension payment of 750,000 (IQD).
Journalist (other than employees), who gets injured due to a terrorist act while on or because of their duties and who are disabled by 50% or more shall be granted a monthly pension payment of 500,000 (IQD).
Journalist (other than employees), who gets injured due to a terrorist act while on or because of duty and and who are disabled by 30% or more shall be granted a monthly pension payment of 250,000 (IQD).
Aforementioned Paragraphs shall be applied to death and injuries that occured after 9 April 2003.
The State shall provide free treatment to any journalists injured due to a terrorist act while on or because of their duties.
