Abstract/Citation: Provides that education is a right guaranteed to all citizens. The philosophy stems from the established principles and the Islamic religion, human and cultural interaction, Arab affiliation and cultural and social framework of Bahrain (art. 1). The Law also sets out the responsible Ministry, its functions and responsibilities (art. 4-5). Basic education is compulsory for children from six years old until aged 15 (or nine years of schooling) and is free of charge (arts. 6-7).
